Michael Vondueren, 47, is accused of freezing the bodies of more than 300 dead cats inside his house in Sacramento, Calif. Police officers made the discovery while they were checking on Vondueren's 81-year-old mother over the weekend. Sacramento police Sgt. Jim Hose tells The Sacramento Bee that "officers found three freezers crammed with the bodies of hundreds of dead cats" and dozens of live cats roaming the residence. He says the interior was covered with cat waste. "Every so often, if they wouldn't clean or something, there was a smell, an odor that just reeks on the street," neighbor Marquita Trotter tells the local ABC affiliate. "I was afraid to have a party here and have family come over." ![]() |
