More important then Iraq?
At the Miss Teen USA pageant two weeks ago, televised by NBC, Lauren Caitlin Upton was read a question from Aimee Teegarden, who plays a precocious, articulate teenager on the NBC show “Friday Night Lights.” Ms. Teegarden asked, “Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can’t locate the U.S. on a world map. Why do you think this is?” Ms. Upton offered a rambling and largely incoherent answer, and became a YouTube star. In an interview on NBC’s “Today” show about her sudden notoriety, she blamed her earlier performance on nervousness, and was given the chance to answer the question again. (You can watch video of her original answer to the question here, and the NBC interview here.)
